Barbell squats

Place the feet just outside of shoulder width, with the toes facing out slightly. Stand underneath the bar, grab with an overhand grip with your thumbs over the bar, not under. Squeeze your shoulder blades together and place the barbell just above the shoulder blades. DO NOT place the barbell on your neck. Keep a slight bend in the knee, your back and head should be straight throughout the exercise and the core engaged. Keep the dumbbell close to your body and bend the hips, knees and ankles together. Lower yourself until you are at 90 degrees or lower. Ensure the pelvis is kept level. Do not lift any part of your feet off the floor, your feet should remain flat at all times. Pause slightly at the bottom, before pushing through the floor with your feet to return back to the start position.
